ACCOMMODATION Options
You can choose from a variety of places to stay, either in the charming little town of Caramanico Terme, or in the rustic retreat of the village of Decontra, just 10 minutes away. You will find a warm welcome at the newly restored B&B Antico Borgo, perched on the steep spur of the medieval quarter in the town of Caramanico Terme. Several of the en-suite rooms have wonderful mountain views and there is a delightful grassy terrace on which to relax in the shade of a tree with a good book. In Decontra, stay in one of several traditional village houses, lovingly converted into characterful rural accommodation.
Situated at 680 mt., near the confluence of the Orfento and Orta rivers, on a hilltop between the Monte Morrone and the Majella mountains (the second highest mountain of the Apennines), Caramanico Terme is just 40 mins from Pescara International Airport, 45 mins from the coast and 20 mins from ski resorts, a paradise for cross-country skiers and excursion lovers.
DECONTRA Village - (10 min. drive from the small town of Caramanico Terme) At 810m altitude, this little mountain village is in a superb position, with stunning south-facing views over the gorge to Monte Amaro (2793m), Monte Morrone (2061m) and the lush Orta valley in between. The village has only been connected to the outside world since the 1970s; until then it had no electricity, and no road. Now the 80 or so inhabitants still work the land and vegetable gardens, graze their flocks and gather their winter fuel from the high mountain woodlands.
Decontra Self Catering Accommodation - 'The Hen House' is a 17th Century Cottage. Recently refurbished, in the rustic mountain village of Decontra (830m absl), in the Heart of Majella National Park.
The Cottage has two bedrooms with views across the village, a bathroom and its own well-equipped kitchen. It is ideal for families and those wishing to be completely independent.
Decontra is ideally situated for walking, with many routes setting out from the village itself. You can embark on challenging full day summit bids, potter for an hour to a glorious picnic spot, or anything in between. Choose between high mountains, upland meadows or deep gorges.

Decontra Traditional Farm House Accommodation - The Farm House is situated inthe village of Decontra, only 10 min. drive from Caramanico Terme. This accommodation represent the best solution to spend holiday in a wild walking.
The owners Camillo and Marisa Sanelli are certified mountain guides of this area as well ski instructors. They cultivate the land to produce much of their own food including growing grain which they turn into bread for your breakfast. Marisa is an excellent cook and great entertainer. She cooks delicious dinners 2 or 3 times a week.
CARAMANICO Terme Accommodation - Antico Borgo B&B is located in the old town center of Caramanico Terme. It is the perfect vintage estate to live different vacations far away from stress and confusion.
The Accommodation offers rare moments and feelings of the old good days, perfectly harmonized with the beauties of the Majella National Park.
